My Job

Introduction

My current job is based at a large motor vehicle research centre, which houses almost all the necessary facilities for the development of modern passenger vehicles, including 4 wheel drives. I am currently based within the Electro-hydraulic test area, which is responsible for the proving of the structural integrity and durability of the vehicles from component level, up to complete vehicle structures.I am the leader of a group responsible for the following tasks, by no means is this list the total of the teams activities, in the modern workplace people have to be flexible as the business environment changes and we may be asked to take on other responsibilities at very little notice :

Departmental Business Planning.

	Capital equipment investment planning to support vehicle development plan.
	Revenue planning with an annual budget of approximately �1.000,000.
	Structural extension plans for existing laboratories.
	Project workload and manning resource planning.

Facility Test Equipment.

	Purchase of test equipment from specialist suppliers.
	The design, manufacture and build of servo-hydraulic test systems.
	Maintenance of existing test equipment.
	Overall test equipment strategy for servo-hydraulic and pneumatic test areas.

General Department Support

	Control and maintenance of vehicle fleet.
	Purchase order processing.
	Travel arrangements UK and overseas.
